Alan Shearer Statue Newcastle


Alan Shearer Statue, Newcastle. 

On the 12th of September 2016 the statue of Newcastle United's greatest ever goal scorer Alan Shearer was unveiled next to St James' Park.
Shearer scored 206 goals in his Newcastle career. Alan Shearer is also the record all time Premier League goalscorer and former captain of the England team.   
Also in the pictures are Freddie Shepherd, former chairman of Newcastle United F.C. and owner of Shepherd Offshore who paid for the statue, Kevin Keegan who managed the club and was a player previously and former Newcastle and Scotland captain Bob Moncur.

Melrose is a small, ancient town in the Scottish borders. Melrose is a town where Rugby Union has always been popular.
 It is the birthplace of Rugby Sevens and the town holds a famous tournament each year.

The Northern League


The Northern League.

The Northern League, based in the North East of England, Yorkshire and Cumbria is the second oldest football league in the world.
The league is semi-professional and is run mainly by volunteers.
The clubs are part of the local communities and many run various teams from children's sides up to the first team squads.

North Shields 4 Blyth Spartans 3 Northumberland Senior Cup Final 2016

The Northumberland Senior Cup is a tournament played for  annually by clubs of the Northumberland Football Association.
It was first played for in 1884. 
On the 4th of May 2016 North Shields beat Blyth Spartans 4-3 to lift the trophy at St James' Park.
