Newcastle Racecourse.

Newcastle Racecourse.

There has been horse racing in Newcastle for 350 years.
King George the Second instigated a race on Newcastle's Town Moor in 1753 and this was where the most famous race held in the city, the Northumberland Plate was held until 1882 when it was moved to it's current location in High Gosforth Park.
In recent years the course has been modified with an all weather track, one of the few in the UK.
